Battlefront Presenter Search
Do you want to be a presenter? Are you passionate about changing the world? If so, Battlefront need you! We're on the hunt for a new co-host of The Battlefront Show - our fortnightly, celeb-filled web-show all about our young campaigners on a mission. As one of the two presenters of the show, you'll tell viewers what's been happening in Battlefront Land, chat to our amazing Battlefronters about their campaigns, interview celebs about changing the world and encourage fellow young people to get involved. You will of course be paid for your hosting duties too.
Since exploding onto the Internet, The Battlefront Show has featured the likes of Tinchy Stryder, The Wanted, Professor Green, The Saturdays, Alicia Keys, Plan B, Hollyoaks stars, Scouting For Girls and more, alongside the finest fortnightly campaign highlights.
Until now, the show has been hosted by youtube sensations, Alex Day and Amazing Phil, but the time has come for them to welcome an as-yet undiscovered star into the mix: a new face of Battlefront.
To enter, you need to make a video of yourself talking about your favourite official Battlefront campaign (one of our Battlefront 12), explaining it clearly and with bags of passion! The vid should be no longer than 60 seconds. You need to upload the vid onto Youtube and post the link on this page for Battlefronters to vote on. You'll need to enter all your details in the competition form too.
Entrants must be 17 - 21 years of age at the point of entry and a UK resident (and it you are under the age of 18 you will need to have the consent of your parent or guardian to enter). You'll also need to be free to film during weekdays.
How will the competition be judged?
Once you've entered, your video will be displayed below with all other contenders. It's then in the hands of the Battlefront community to vote for their favourites. After voting closes, the 10 vids with the most votes will then be presented to our panel of expert judges (from Channel 4, Raw TV and a special guest!) who will whittle it down to five. The entries will be judged on passion, delivery, talent, charisma and how inspirational you are likely to be to young people. The five which best fulfill this criteria will make it to the final stage.
The final five will be invited to attend a presenter workshop in London in December, where you'll be put through your paces in a number of on-camera tests and challenges designed to show your skills as a potential face of Battlefront. Based on your performance at the presenter workshop, and your original video entry, the panel of judges will pick a final winner. Shortlisted entrants who are under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent/ guardian. All shortlisted entrants living outside London will have their rail travel and accommodation (where necessary) to the workshop paid for.
The final winner will be required to enter in to an employment contract with Raw Television and as part of it will need to complete a self disclosure form informing us of any previous or current criminal convictions. In addition the winner must be eligible to work in the UK.
You've got until 12pm on November 24th to enter BUT the sooner you do it, the more time your campaign will have to notch-up votes! Voting closes a week later - at 12pm on December 1st, 2010. Once the ten shortlisted entries have been selected, those ten finalists will then be contacted by us and we will request further information. After deliberation by the panel, the final five will then be invited to take part in the presenter workshop (date TBC). The 5 that are selected need to accept their place at the workshop within 48 hours otherwise an alternative entrant may be put forward in their place.
The winner will be announced on December 21st, 2010.
