Pay: New Web Based Comedy

We are currently casting for an all-new web-comedy, based on the madcap lives of a group of university students in the North East of England.

Anyone that has ever been young will be able to relate to this concept.
We are making a witty comedy that is young at heart.

Each episode will be around ten-minutes in duration and will be used to generate hype, exposure and popularity for everyone involved. Initially we will release the material via social networking sites and video forums.
Ultimately, we aim to approach investors and TV commissioners, using the web episodes as a show-reel for all of the talent involved.

Our aim is to create a show that can serve as a springboard for budding talent.

The Internet is the perfect platform for new talent to make a start in the industry. (Think about where you saw this advert…we're all trying to get somewhere.)

We want to hear from YOU!

Mark
18-21
Mark is a comic book geek and aspiring film-maker. He is the sensitive type who generally hides behind his humour. He has recently been dumped by his girlfriend.

Meg
18-21
An attractive law student who is sick and tired of being judged by her looks. She is a loyal friend and helps to keep people's feet on the ground.

Keith
18-21
A history student. Easily thrown into a state of panic when it comes to exams and stressful situations. In normal situations he is very easy going. His girlfriend, Lorna, wears the trousers in the relationship. He over-thinks everything and tends to cry when he probably shouldn't.

Lorna
18-21
Assertive, no-nonsense type. She can be blunt at times and loves to be in control. She has a dry sense of humour. She is Keith's girlfriend...some may say, his boss.

Carl
Out-spoken, loud and girl-obsessed. He is the only non-student in the group, but he attends all social events, (even when he's not invited). He has a habit of turning up in unusual places.
He issues pointless advice with tiny pearls of wisdom.
He is Mark's best friend.

Sophie
18-21
Attractive emo/gothic/rock chick. Shy at first but ends up becoming a woman in her own right. She is very sweet once you get to know her.
She is a film student, but takes a while to figure out exactly what she wants to do as a career.

Josh
18-30
Josh failed the army training programme and is killing time until he is allowed to apply again.
He is obsessed with war and guns, etc. He is studying history for this very reason.
Works part-time as a paintball marshall. He is always covered in bruises.

Casey
18-24
Mark's old girlfriend.
She is training to be a nurse, and, after Mark, has hooked up with the most unlikely of rebound guys...

Pay: Oh Stanley!

A series of surrealist comedy 8x10min non-linear vignettes designed for an internet/on demand audience following the eponymous hero Stanley. Stanley is a man lost in space and time, quite literally sometimes, you see Stanley is an insomniac and hasn't slept for a very, very long time. The world has become a strange, in between sleep kind of place. Especially with the enigmatic Jack Paradise appearing on the roof of his building every Tuesday night (around 12ish give or take). Stanley's nocturnal adventures take him to fantastical lands of imagination, he's quite aware that this probably means he's gone barking mad but if he can just keep it hidden from everyone else he'll be fine, just fine...

I require a cast of actors for character and script development, this piece is under discussion with BBC as a potential series to launch on the BBC IPlayer. Oh Stanley is at the early stages so input will be hugely influential. Comedy and literary character experience essential.

Final year degree piece, likely for a festival run.

All expenses, accommodation catered for. DVD of finished film will be supplied.

GLOVE
Early 20s. Plays solo guitar for a job and this takes him to many different places. He is well travelled and feels comfortable in unusual situations. Keeps things to himself most of the time and does not feel the need to express his opinions to everyone he meets, the exception perhaps being through his music.

ADIE
Early 20s. Works full time but is not fulfilled. When he saves enough money from his job he has big plans to travel. Unsure however what exactly he will do and where he will go. Slightly naïve in this respect. Lives with one other guy near the centre of Bournemouth.

Pay: Strange Bedfellows

"Strange Bedfellows" by Stuart Spencer is a farce torn from the pages of American history!

It is being produced for this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe at The Zoo, 4-5pm from 1st - 25th August 2008.

Spencer has taken the saying "politics makes strange bedfellows" literally, and put together in the same bed figures from throughout American history with hilarious results. The play includes such American icons as George Washington, Wilbur and Orville Wright, Marilyn Monroe, Lizzie Borden, Lee Harvey Oswald, and the ice skater Tonya Harding, whose involvement with the kneecapping of a rival skater made her internationally notorious.

Washington / Frederick Douglass / Wilbur Wright
Black actor with good American accent needed to play a variety of characters.

I'm afraid this job is unpaid - but does offer exposure at the Festival, and the show has a professional publicist onboard. As a new piece of writing it is also eligible for the Fringe First awards.

Danny O'Grady
Danny O’Grady was born in Bermondsey in South East London in 1980 to Jimmy and Leanne O’Grady. He is their second son and has a brother named Sean who is seven years his senior. When Danny was three Leanne died in an unfortunate car accident, Jimmy was unable to grieve for his wife and this led to him distancing himself from his sons and immersing himself in his work and consequently this left Sean to look after his younger brother. Sean was seen to almost be responsible for the bringing up of Danny. Danny, a troublemaker, was expelled from school at 15 for fighting and never returned to education. From then on he joined his brother and began to lead a criminal lifestyle. Danny has always been perceived as the less intelligent and less prosperous O’Grady brother, he is seen just as Sean right-hand man, and many believe he will never be able to live up to the famous O’Grady name.

Danny’s long-term goal in life is to make lots of money and move to Spain.

Danny is quite self confident, However, he is often hindered by his brother’s criticisms of him.

Has an extroverted, loudmouth, rowdy, personality.

He deals well with anger a lot better than Sean, lets a lot of things go over his head.

Has had to deal with the death in the family, particularly his mum, so has learnt to deal with sadness and grief.

Likes conflicts, like to be part of a fight or heated argument

Danny would like to not always been seen as the less capable and less intelligent O’Grady brother.

Money, and the thought of being known as an infamous South London gangster like his father motivates Danny into leading his criminal life.

The thought of losing his brother frightens, who is often seen to help in fighting his battles ands has helped significantly in his upbringing frightens Danny the most

Sean O'Grady
Name: Sean O’grady

Nationality: British
Hometown: South East London. Bermonsdy
Occupation: Joint ownership with his brother Danny

Educational Background: Dropped out of secondary school due to lack of work commitment and bad attitude

Learning Experiences: Being in Prison

Character's short-term goals in life: Be rich

Very self confident

Deals with anger extremley badly, doesn’t know how to handle the situation with a suitable approach. He doesn’t think about his actions.

Can handle sadness due to his mum dying when he was a young age.

Doesn’t like change occurring with his day to day life, he likes everything to occur within a running order so that he knows exactly what is going on and when.

The loss of his mother has had a huge impact on his life, so this is quite a weakness for him

He wants to be rich and very powerful so that he has authority over other people

He wants to make his mum proud even though she passed away, he feels that sometimes he should change his lifestyle for the better but something always holds him back.

The thought of losing his daughter or his brother frightens him.

Knowing that he has power over certain people, and he can manipulate them makes him happy.

Extremely judgemental, if he doesn’t like the appearance of someone he will never warm to that person, he believes that first impressions count for everything

Because he has a child he is generous in the sense that he gives her everything because he doesn’t want her to have the type of childhood that he did.

Pay: Celestial Sister

We are about to begin development on it's new on-line download Sci Fi Series 'The Celestial Sister'. The show follows the adventures of 5 female government agents in the 25th century.

AUDITIONS
We will obviously be holding an audition session at some stage but it's a way off yet, we're looking to get the interest of people who want to be involved while raising the money so that we can hit the ground running.

THE SHOOT
We are still securing finance for the project but aim to shoot either in the summer or early autumn.

We're aiming to acquire a large warehouse to work with a sound stage and build some impressive sets as well as going out and finding cool locations that can be used (saves us building it then)

The amount of money we raise will also determine just how much budget there is for cast and crew wages, if you're not prepared to work for expenses then this isn't for you, however we're not aiming to make this for expenses, its just a possibility - you have been warned!

THE RELEASE
A release prior to Christmas is our target with each episode going live one week after each other.

We'll be offering deals for people who wish to download the whole series as well as releasing a DVD with extras and behind the scene material on there as well.

Promotional work will start as soon as the project gets the green light. We'll hit the Sci Fi conventions and hope to raise awareness and get some interest for the project. It'd be great if those actors cast could be involved at the conventions as seeing the characters in costume will undoubtedly attract a lot more attention.

Speaking of costume, it's all very campy sci fi stuff, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers kind of stuff. The heroines will be dressed in very revealing but cool clothing (hot pants short skirts etc) so confidence is a must.

Ultimately we're aiming this at the Internet Sci Fi fans who (without wish to tar too many people with the same brush) are big fans of sexy girls in little clothing.

However the guys will need to look good topless too, particularly Alex Zander, Blackstone, Bain and Chief Krull.

But the whole thing is sexy not sexual and we're looking to create iconic images of characters that guys and girls would want on posters on the bedroom walls, or at least as wall papers on their computers.

Again this ties in to the pre marketing campaign where we want a lot of interest so sexy people in sexy outfits walking round a sci fi convention is bound to do us some good.

SCARLET DAVIS
25 - 35) The leader of the team. Confident, intelligent and brave.
Preferably a blonde, the classic 40s heroine.

JADE AVERTON
(20 - 30)
The moody one. Jade has a real chip on her shoulder and doesn't trust anyone outside the team. Jade, dark hair (black almost) slightly Goth like.

AMBER BAIL
(18 - 25) Youngest of the group the most energetic, her martial arts skills keep her frantic personality in line. She’s a bit of a spoilt brat.
A fiery red head - need I say more.

VIOLET CROSS
(18 - 25) Quietest one of the group and the most intelligent. Brunette, bookish typewho’s stunning with her hair down and glasses off.

CRYSTAL ECHO
(20 -30)
Most opinionated, could be the leader if she wasn't so blunt. Saying things as she sees them is both her best and worst quality.

Ti Ling - The Imperial Empress
(25 - 35).
A cross between Cleopatra and Ming the merciless. Evil, but cool and sexy with it. She is actually almost 200 years old so has not rushed her plans. This combined with her drive to rule the galaxy has made her a very worthy adversary to the Earth.

Anna - Head of the Secret police.
(20 - 25).
Smart and firm, a perfect leader. She has one weakness (if can be
called a weakness) in that she is in Love with Alex Zander - head of one of
the local mercenary groups who work for Ti Ling but are not totally loyal to
her. Alex and his men are considered a possible threat and Anna romance with
him has to remain a secret. She carries this fear with her always.

Tasha - Military Commander
(20 - 25).
She is after Anna job and is so driven as to the point of being
unnecessarily cruel to her enemies. There's a hint of SandM fetish to her in
both style, clothing and actions. She has zero remorse, loves no one and
lives only to serve Ti Ling who she believes ishould be the true leader of
the galaxy. Her only problem is her desire to replace Anna at the head of
the Police, this causes Tasha to sometime act even more extremely in an
effort to prove her worthiness to Ti Ling

Thomas Durham

Alan Dury
I am looking for a white male who looks “between” 30-50 who can play the lead in my film.

The role is for Alan Dury a depressed family man who wakes up one Monday morning, and realizes he doesn't like his life and cannot cope with his domestic lifestyle anymore, and then for no real reason other than his wife telling him to turn off the light, Alan snaps and kills his wife and two daughters.

The build up of pressure and depression has erupted over twenty years and Alan has lost all sense of identification and meaning, so the performance has to be believable to be able to portray these elements of Alan's Character.

Basically this Film is a character study, and this role will require an actor who has the ability to be able to explore the depth of human emotion in an expressive yet cold manner.

This part is the lead and you will be on screen for the whole film.

Janet Dury
White, between the age of 25 - 50

This role is the wife of the protagonist, she will be lying in bed with her Husband "Alan"

This part will not have any lines however the role does require you to improvise; this part is much more than extra part because your presence is very important to the story, and you will be on screen for aprox one minute.

Barman
Alan goes into a bar and the Barman serves him, He attempts to have a conversation with Alan but Alan isn't interested, then Barman becomes very suspicious of the blood on Alan's shirt.

Pay: My Red Shoes

My Red Shoes is an issues based drama, focusing on domestic abuse.

It is a short film being made by Bridgwater College media students, for college purposes but also professional purposes. The film is being made in conjunction with South West Screen for the current TOR programme. This means unlike other student films we do have a minimal budget for expenses etc. It also means that the film will be screened to industry professionals and will hopefully be sent to film festivals around the country.

The film concentrates on the relationship between Maggie and her abusive husband Johnny. Her sister Eve is constantly trying to get her out of the relationship to no avail. But Maggie is pushed to the limit when Johhny comes back drunk again and manages, after a struggle, to leave him. Her world changes around her but the possibility of reconciliation surrounds her every move.

We are passionate, driven individuals who want to make not only a professional product but an educational tool to show others the affects of domestic abuse.

Maggie
Maggie is a woman in her late 20's early 30's. She has been with Johnny all her life and is almost sympathetic towards him. She leads a monotonous life the complete opposite to her sister. She shares many similarities with her mother, an aspect which is also explored in the script.

Johnny
Johnny is in his 30's and loves Maggie but is just unable to show it in the right way. He cannot understand why she leaves him even though the reasons are quite obvious. He needs to have an air of violence about him but also needs to be almost emotionally unstable.

Eve
Eve is Maggie's older sister who is independent and successful. She always tries to persuade Maggie to leave Johnny and eventually becomes Maggie's refuge in her hour of need.

Pay: Passion by Stephen Sondheim

Apt-Creative proudly presents Stephen Sondheim's 'Passion' - a young soldier's journey through the multifaceted twists and turns of Love. Sondheim's quasi-operatic, relentless, musical scoring and powerful lyric create the foundation for a sumptuous production taking the audience on a powerful and evocative journey.

'Passion' sees the heroic young soldier, Georgio, who is having an affair with the beautiful but married Clara, being sent away from the city to a remote posting. It is here that Georgio meets Fosca - the sickly, obsessive cousin of his commanding officer. Drawn to Georgio after borrowing some books from him, Fosca falls fixatedly in love with him, and at her doctor's insistence, Georgio spends more time with Fosca in order to 'keep her alive'.

Fosca's compulsive and yet unconditional love forces Georgio to question his relationship with Clara. Georgio asks her to leave her husband to live with him, which she refuses to do and so, ultimately, he sees the truth of their shallow relationship and leaves her.

The Colonel finds a letter that Fosca emotionally blackmailed Georgio into writing and, believing that he has taken advantage of her illness, challenges Georgio to a duel. Georgio comes to the realisation that, either through empathy, pity or by the voracity of her love for him, he feels love for Fosca and accepts. The final scenes of 'Passion' see Georgio declaring love for Fosca and the duel taking place.

Many conclusions can be made about the demands and the essence of love and 'Passion' forces the audience to face the questions, 'What is Love? Is it a demand or a gift you bestow?'

Georgio
Strong Tenor 25 - 35	N/A
Young and handsome Officer, there is something of the lost soul to Georgio. He has suffered an injury (we are never told what) and as a result he is given a non-combatative post. Both Clara and Fosca are attracted to his dark and brooding nature. His tumultuous journey is reflected in the diverse vocal range and demands. He is the central character and the actor needs to clearly demonstrate and define the various relationships through strong physical and vocal expression
Audition Piece - Scene 9 'Is this what you call love' and 'Happiness' to be auditioned with Clara. Short dialogue piece with Fosca

Fosca
Mature Mezzo Soprano Voice	30+	Slim / Slight
Sickly cousin to the Colonel, Fosca has lost all hope of life and love. She was cruelly betrayed by her husband, the ‘Count’ of Austria, and this has manifested itself in her physical and mental well-being. Almost willing herself to death she meets Georgio, and connects with the ‘wounded soul’ in him. She obsessively and cruelly pursues him, forcing him to question his existing relationship. The actress playing Fosca has to personify mental and physical illness in an honest manner whilst performing highly challenging, emotional songs.
Audition Piece - Scene 7 (Part 2) 'I wish I could forget you' and dialogue preceeding to be auditioned with Georgio

Clara
Mezzo Soprano 25 - 35

Beautiful, but shallow, Clara is married to a powerful man with whom she has a son. Trapped within the social confines of a loveless marriage, Clara meets Georgio and falls in love with his malaise but refuses to leave her husband. Georgio is besotted with her at first and they write constantly to each other - this is the content of the songs between them. The actress playing Clara does not go on as much of an emotional journey and yet she has a crucial role playing opposite only Georgio (she has no interaction with anyone else). Most of her performance will be from a bed and she will be dressed in modest underwear.
Audition Piece - 'Sunrise Letter' and 'Happiness' to be auditioned with Georgio

Colonel Ricci
Mature Tenor Late 30's

With the authoritative demeanour of a man with power, the Colonel has taken Fosca into his home and cared for her through a sense of guilt. He welcomes Georgio into his home and introduces him to his friends. He welcomes the friendship between Georgio and his cousin but towards the end, on discovering their growing relationship, becomes angry and challenges Georgio to a duel. The Colonel is a man of the 'old school' military and probably hasn't seen active service for a long time. The actor must have a wide tenor range and able to show his compassionate side through physical and vocal expression.
Audition Piece - Flashback part 4 'Why could I not admit the truth'

Doctor
Tenor/Baritone 30+ No solo singing lines but essential harmonic contribution

The Doctor is an authoritative but tired man as his sole purpose, at a non-active military post, has been the care of Fosca. He has gravitas due to his loyalty for the Colonel and is highly persuasive, encouraging Fosca's interest in Georgio. He is instrumental in their initial friendship and shows his humanitarian side despite the Colonel's anger when it develops into a relationship.
Audition Piece - Scene 10 'Nightmare'

Young Fosca
18+ No solo singing lines but essential harmonic contribution in chorus numbers

Young Fosca should have a sense of innocence. The actress will be Young Fosca in 1 essential scene playing opposite the Count. She must be open to physical theatre ideas and will be in the chorus for the rest of the show.
Audition Piece - Scene 10 'Nightmare'

Count Ludovic of Austria
Tenor Voice 25+	Rest of show in chorus

Archetypal villian, the count and his personality hark from a day gone by, where all villians have pencil moustaches and a long black coat. The count should be able to embody this sense of malevolence, almost asking for the audience to hiss when they see him. He appears in 1 scene comprised of a challenging 7 part song in a flashback sequence. The actor Will have a solo song and must be open to physical theatre ideas. He will be in the chorus for the rest of the show.
Audition Piece - Flashback part 3

5 Soldiers
Archetypal villian, the count and his personality hark from a day gone by, where all villians have pencil moustaches and a long black coat. The count should be able to embody this sense of malevolence, almost asking for the audience to hiss when they see him. He appears in 1 scene comprised of a challenging 7 part song in a flashback sequence. The actor Will have a solo song and must be open to physical theatre ideas.
Abba's Angels are one of the UK's premier Abba Tributes , based in south UK and have been established since 2000. We have gigs in the diary ranging from 100 people golf club dinners up to 20,000 festivals. We are a fun and friendly band, who always try to make newcomers welcome. Work is mainly in the south of UK and predominantly Saturdays with a few Fridays / the odd mid week . As well as Abba we also do a 70's set, an 80's set and a mixed "function" set. Occassionally we perform these without the Abba but generally as an add on.

We need an Agnetha dep to cover gigs when I want a night off mainly. Ideally 5'4 min - 5'8 max, size 10 preferred to fit existing costumes, boot size 5-7. Obviously needs to be a good singer with good harmonies and highish range (although we don't do Winner Takes It All). Previous Abba Experience preferred, good Swedish accent when singing /talking, lively stage presence, enthusiastic, confident, ability to do simple choreography, reliable, punctual, keen to muck in with set up/take down etc.

Pay: The Dogs

The Dogs is a short story by Hanif Kureishi's first published in PHOBIC by Comma Press. We are adapting this story with a twist into a short film. My name is Caleb Shaffer and I am a Producer at The Northern Film. This is my Exam project piece and such we have high standard for it. We will be shooting on 35mm which we hope will help us to achieve this goal. The Director is Ronald J Wright who is also at The Northern Film School as a Director. He is a very experienced director and has had his previous work broadcasted all over the world.

Hi, my name's Ron and I'm the director of the film adaptation of Hanif Kureishi's short story THE DOGS.
I remember very clearly the first time I read the story, because my producer Caleb had given me the "Phobia" anthology to read and strongly recommended it. I enjoyed the book very much, but for me The Dogs was the highlight; even as I read it, I was thinking, "I've got to make this". I was struck by the dramatic premise, which is unapologetically simple: a mother and child try to cross a meadow and find themselves under attack by a pack of ravenous dogs. Though the story explores modern society's hysteria concerning dangerous dogs and children, I felt there was a lot more going on. I felt that this was also a story about the dogs of society, hunting in packs and always on the lookout for the weak and vulnerable when the sun goes down, especially on the fringes of society. I felt that it simply couldn't be adapted as is, because the subject matter of a child being killed by dogs would be seen as tasteless and inappropriate, no matter how good the film; it would be extremely difficult for us, with our limited budget, to shoot a film using real, believably "vicious" dogs"; and because I wouldn't want to shoot a film that put a child into those kinds of scenes. Even as I was finishing the story on the first read, we thought of a crazy idea: that the dogs had to be human. And this is key to the film adaptation I want to make, in tandem with some other changes.

In our script I've added a little more to the character of the mother; she's a battered young wife, fleeing an abusive husband, but with nowhere to go. This gives her plight some emotional substance and puts their situation in some kind of context, which I feel is important for a film audience. Because of the difficulties of using very young children, the child is now around seven years old. The pursuit and attack sequence is longer and more gradually filled with tension, but at the end the mother rushes to protect her child and finds they are surrounded by slavering human beings, ready to eat them alive. Telling the story this way accomplishes some important things: it retains the tension and still plays on the fear of real dogs in society, but in the end, when the "dogs" are revealed as human, it offers a great surprise ending, saves the film from ending in a way that many audiences would find unacceptable, and also makes a broader statement about the all-too-human monsters that roam the land after dark. I feel that this surprising change to the ending makes it far more rewarding cinematically, far more interesting and thought-provoking.

But interestingly, the more I have thought about the story, and how I have come to interpret it both as a filmmaker and as a fan of the story, I now feel that for me, the film adaptation of The Dogs is really about what it must be like to be a woman in modern society: constantly worried for your children, never wanting to let them out of your sight, constantly wary of getting into places or situations which you can't get out of, and the constant fear of the random, mindless violence of men. I feel that The Dogs is the kind of story readers, and audiences alike, will interpret for themselves, but for me, as prospective director, this is the central theme of the film.

The Dogs will work fantastically well as a straight, disturbing short urban horror film; the potential for visuals and atmosphere is terrific. But for me, it's the underlying themes which make it a more substantial project. I think of it as a "social horror" film, which can deliver scares, but also get strong reactions from those who see it - whether they love it or hate it. And because of these strengths, The Dogs undoubtedly has the potential to perform fantastically well at film festivals worldwide.

I hope that this statement tells you a little about my vision for the proposed film; it's a film I really want to make, and I hope that you like the ideas I've put forward enough to let us go ahead and make it. Thanks.

Ronald J. Wright

On 12th September 1942, the troopship Laconia was struck by a German torpedo in the mid-Atlantic. For a dwindling band of survivors, twenty-eight excruciating days marooned in a lifeboat would take their toll - their lives poised between the bitter elements and the persistence of hope - and with the barest of rations, almost all would perish. New work, written by five star Edinburgh author David Walter Hall and directed by Tom Cornford (The Globe, Sadlers Wells, The Gate, Pleasance).

This new work is based on letters written during WWII which detailed an illicit love affair in Alexandria, Egypt as the Germans advanced across North Africa. The play covers the subsequent flight and tragic deaths of a young officer and his married lover after being torpedoed in the Atlantic ocean on their way back to England.

It's a powerful play; very physical as well as emotional. All the action takes place in a lifeboat at sea making it a close-up and personal experience for both the actors and the audience.

Pay: Tristan And Iseult

An adaption of the legend of Tristan and Iseult, the Cornish Knight who falls in love with an Irish Princess. This will be a feature film and is being made for my FDA Yr 2 Final Major Study. The film will be shown and submitted to film festivals around the UK and internationally as well.

This will be filmed completely in Black and White and in HDV. We are currently securing locations around Devon and Cornwall to film at.

Tristan
Tristan is to be in his late teens or early twenties. To be well built as he is one of the greatest Knights in the kingdom. Good looking and charasmatic, full of energy and confidence, yet, has a fairly good moral compass.

Haircut should not be very modern and should be suitable to a medieval period. This part does require nudity.

Iseult
An Irish Princess, Iseult is in her late teens - late twenties. A strong minded, very attractive woman, who, in a world ruled by men, has the heart of one. Rather than being married for her father's wish or because it is expected of her, she would rather marry for herself and her feelings, so she is not in a hollow, empty relationship.

Haircut should be reasonably long hair. This part does require nudity.

Denoalan
Denoalan is noblemen of King Marke's realm. He is arrogant and powerful. He hates Tristan and is a close ally of Godwin and Ganelon.

This part is written for an older man however I am open to younger actors playing the part if they can play him well. Facial hair would be appropriate, but not necessary.

Godwin
Godwin, much like Denoalan, is rich, powerful and cunning. A close ally of Ganelon and Denoalan, he has a strong distaste for Tristan.

This part is written for an older man however I am open to younger actors playing the part if they can play him well. Facial hair would be appropriate, but not necessary.

Ganelon
Ganelon, though in league with Godwin and Denoalan, is much more fond of Tristan, but doubts Tristan's ability as a ruler, when Marke's time has passed. Much more kind and thoughtful than his noble allies, Ganelon is far more open to change.

This part is written for an older man however I am open to younger actors playing the part if they can play him well. Facial hair would be appropriate, but not necessary.

King Marke
King Marke is a kind, strong leader, who is as able on the battlefield as he is in the council chambers. Marke should be in his 30's or 40's. Though he is to be married to Iseult, there is little love that he feels for her.

Priest
The Priest is a clear sound to the talk of the council. He is wise and calm and a friend to all. His intellect and forward thinking is disliked by some of the nobles, but to Marke, he is his concience, to Tristan, he is a friend, though Tristan is not as comfortable with God as others in the kingdom.

This part is open for all ages over 25.

Bishop
The Irish Bishop is a very strong willed member of the Irish court. He can be manipulative and threatening to the Irish King. Knowing how much power he has in Ireland, he is not afraid to throw his weight around.

The bishop should be played by someone over 50, facial hair would be appropriate, but not necessary.

For my directing dissertation (King's College London / RADA), I am looking for 3 male and female actors, aged 55+, to devise a play based on Virginia Woolf's 'The Waves'.
In a workshop-based approach, I will explore, together with the actors, our past life from childhood to old age, and how memories influence our sense of identity, the image we have of ourselves. This will then feed into our work with the actual text of the novel. Each actor/actress is going to take over one of the six friends, and look at their lives as described in the novel from a retrospective point of view. Who are these characters? How do they behave when they meat each other? I am particularly keen to explore how identities shift and change over time and in the presence of other people. I also want to scrutiny how close we are to our memories, and if it is possible to relive some key moments of our past, to restage and revive them, or if they are irrevocably lost.

Pay: Captured

'Captured' is a short drama that deals with sexual confusion, desire and deception in a contemporary glamourous setting.

'Captured' explores the complexities and deception involved in a love triangle with three people. They all connect and encounter lust, passion and jealously on the way.

There is little dialogue in the film itself, the focus is more based on physicality, appearances and outward displays of affection. As the film has lesbian/gay themes the cast involved must be comfortable with this.

The film focuses on four characters:

-----------------------------------

Natalia: A 26 year old professional photographer who has not yet been able to establish a successful career. She is beautiful and artistic with a firey temperment and is having an affair with Mia.
- [Model backround would be helpful but is not essential]

Arthur: A rich middle aged man, who is a successful entrepreneur and is madly in love with his young and beautiful wife Mia. He is handsome and a man of presence, well built and dominating.

Mia: A young and beautiful woman with supermodel good looks who is using Arthur for his money, and who is having an affair with Natalia. She is young at heart but believes she has found true love in Natalia and is very devoted to her.
-[Model backround would be helpful but is not essential]

Jonathan: A man brought in by Arthur to appear to be seducing Mia - while his real goal is to deter (and drive away) Natalia from her relationship with Mia.

---------------------------------

Positions are unpaid but travel expenses will be covered.

Shooting will be based in Stoke-On-trent and the surrounding area.

Pay: Betrayal by Harold Pinter

Gripping, tense drama telling the story of an affair involving a husband, his wife and his best friend. The play interestingly moves backwards through time, beginning with the end of the affair and then regressing to the first kiss. Violently dark, and poignant to the extreme. Betrayal is one of Pinter's greatest accomplishments, and a terrific experience for the three actors. Rehearsals would be three weeks in May, with performances running through June, July and August, across the Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire regions. Accommodation cannot be paid for, although we can aid you finding it. Wages are done on a profit share system and depend entirely on the success of the tour.

Robert
Major Role. Male. Husband.
I'm reluctant to give character sketches at this moment since the process will rely so much on the three actor's own interpretations of their roles, close work with the director, and the dynamics between the group as a whole. If interested, applicants should read the script for more information and form their own opinions of how to bring these wonderful characters to life. This really is an actor's play.
