Here at ‘ActUpNorth’ we realise that talent is talent wherever it is found. We understand that not all of us have had the opportunity to attend a specialist London Drama School or even considered Acting as a hobby or career until later in life. Life happens and takes us all down different paths, we hope this will be yet another for you!

More and more the industry is starting to think and, more importantly, look outside of the box when casting, checking out other more contemporary classes and workshops as a source of providing modern artists to the industry.

The classes are aimed at both newcomers to the industry as well as those who have more experience. We believe that all students selected on to the course have something unique and individual to offer the group. We believe very strongly in the concept of growing as a group and creating a safe environment in which to explore our work.

In order to give our students the best training possible we will visit a range of techniques which relate to an actor’s work in Theatre, Film & Television. We believe that it is our job to provide a number of different skills for our students so that they can build up a unique acting toolbox.

Whilst we will cover a range of acting mediums, most of our work will concentrate on acting for TV Dramas. TV Drama is one of the most popular forms of entertainment within the UK. Not surprisingly, therefore, many experienced and indeed new actors work within this field.

All classes are taught by professional working actors, specialist guest tutors and casting professionals.
